TEMA
Every year I talk with thousands of lawyers in Latin America, and almost every lawyer I meet wants to know how to improve his or her professional and Legal English skills.
That’s why I want to invite you to an online lecture next week entitled“Legal English: The Top 15 Terms You Need to Know”.
In this lecture, I take a look at legal terms that most often confuse non-native English speakers, particularly folks trained in the Civil Law system.
Frankly, even native English-speakers are always working to improve Legal English skills. As lawyers we live and die by the power of words, so, of course, language matters to us.
Precise meanings are essential.
This free one-hour lecture will focus on some terms and phrases that are so key in legal documents. They come up time and again, and you may have seen some of them before. You may even have an idea of what they mean, but I guarantee that some of them will surprise you. Meanings are subtle and tricky, and we’ll look at some in the lecture on March 10.
